So at the tail end of my covid quarantine I was cycling through ideas. Building a Lotus 7 replica is something I land on at times. So for excersize I drew a book chassis. But now its time to draw my own chassis. But first some measurements.

3D scan of an NA Miata rear subframe, differential along with a passable drawing of the rear suspension. Plus the unwilling Haynes Book chassis that will need a total redesign for measurements:

So after spending 24 hours in 3 days of drawing and redrawing the start of the cage I have gotten absolutely no where. But I finally got those sections drawn correctly and can proceed. So I decided to take a snapshot of the work.

The braces for the back of the cage will come down and meet the subframe mount as a matter of structure for both. Not sure yet if I am going near straight or maybe cross it up. Have to worry about things like the fuel cell when I start getting fancy.
