Okay fellas, it's that time of year again and you know what i'm talkin' bout .....

I want all your football picks against the spread for this weekend and your stone cold "lock" winner. Here are the lines as of this morning, so I'll start off:

Baltimore +7.5 at New England
Carolina +10.5 at Seattle **** changed selection
Dallas at Green Bay -6.5
Indianapolis at Denver -7.5

My Stone Cold "Lock" pick is Green Bay covering the 6 1/2 point spread against the Cowpokes. Good Luck everyone.

SteamR Out!!!

I think the most interesting game of this weekend will be Packers vs Cowboys. But here are my picks for these games.

New England
Seattle
Dallas
Denver

Now the reason I'm picking Dallas over Green Bay isn't because I'm a Vikings fan. Its because if Rodgers is as hurt as he says he is, he isn't going to be as effective as he normally is. So they'll rely on Lacy and the running game. Dallas is pretty good at stopping the run. Honestly, I think it could go either way, but I think Dallas has a better chance. Plus they probably want to avenge their loss in the Ice Bowl.

Remember guys, base your picks upon the spread NOT straight up.....

p.s. and for the record, i think N.E. will still win but won't cover the spread.

I don't understand spreads. So this is how I will pick.

Ok man. we'll post your "straight up" pick as such but just so you understand how Spread picks works is basically Vegas sportsbooks analyze all the games and selects a Favorite and an Underdog. In order to "balance" the game out and spread the betting, Vegas will than determine a point difference that will "equalize" the matchups.

For example, I too also feel that Seattle will win handily but when betting ATS (against the spread) Seattle will need to win outright by more than 10.5 pts to be considered a winner. Another example would be if you like Dallas than you would receive an additional point edge (+6.5). So if Green Bay were to win by a field goal your pick of Dallas (+6.5) would win because Green Bay didn't cover the spread.

oh, ohhh ......

I am starting to waver with my Denver pick..... Am I going to pick the Colts to win the game straight up? No, I'm not.
I'm just saying: as much as i really like Denver to cover (-7.5), imagine how nervous you'll be when the Broncos are up 10 with 2:00 mins on the clock and Luck is firing darts all over the field. I want absolutely no part of that.

My confidence level in this pick isn't great, and I can't recommend my play, but I'll still stay firm on old man Manning and the Bronco's to cover (-6.5). good luck, just not Andrew Luck.

Fuck You, you Patriots haters. It isn't gonna be like 2 years ago! Pricks!

Just kidding... Fuck I hope your wrong on this one. I would rather we lose to Seattle or Greenbay :D in the superbowl.

LOL

Hey, if the Colts lose - Peyton Manning wins. That's still OK with us in Indiana.

I'm still pulling for New England in this one. Just don't think they're gonna cover and it'll be a close one. Personally, i think a Seattle/New England Superbowl would be A W E S O M E !!!!

I agree Cleveland... NE has so many issues. One minute their a jugganaut, the next their all f-ed up. I think Brady is great, but he has issues and only cause he is getting older at this point. I liked watching the back up QB in the last (meaningless game), two weekends ago. That kid can take a hit and dish it out.

I do agree that would be a great superbowl, I also like the Colts a lot. Andrew Luck is definately awesome to watch.

stone call is Carolina to cover

Hey Blitz, your pick has got me to thinking and reconsidering my selection. An interesting fact i discovered was that these two combatants have met once per year over the past three seasons and Carolina has given Seattle fits in each of those contests. The Seahawks were victorious each time, but the largest margin of victory was only five points, and never did Seattle exceed 16 points in the trio of these games, including a 13-9 win this season. It wouldn't surprise me to see a similar contest on this day.

****Edit - You've convinced me Blitz. I hope i don't regret this but i am going to change my parlay and take the points and side with Carolina.

Close one in Foxboro right now, ehh @Howling_Fury ? Nice come back from the Pats to tie it up in second half. Hopefully they'll pull out a victory but won't cover.

Oh gawd @Blitz. I hope I don't live to regret changing my pick. I have such a sick feeling right now after siding with you on this one.

Nope. I changed my earlier pick @Bungied2theTree after reading blitz's selection and took Carolina & the +10.5pts. Right now I just have the sickest feeling that the SeaHawks are gonna just roll this whole game.....
