New System up and Running!

Got some of my parts this afternoon. 780 OC still in the mail, damn the luck! 2013-06-14_17-23-09_986.jpg2013-06-14_17-26-45_897.jpg2013-06-14_17-28-14_600.jpg2013-06-14_17-29-46_157.jpg

Nice! Put some pics up when it's done. You're going to love this build :)

Thought I would post my recent rig that I have setup. I decided to go all out with it.

Specs:

i7 3960x @ 5GHz
Asus Rampage IV Extreme
2 x EVGA GTX Titan SC in SLI
Patriot Viper Xtreme 2133MHz (4 x 4GB)
Corsair Force 3 240GB
Western Digital Black 1TB
Corsair AX1200

Cooling:
EK-Supreme HF - EN (Nickel) CPU Water Block
EK RIVE Blocks
For Titans -- 2 x EK FC Titan
2 x Hardware Labs Black Ice GTX Extreme rads (560mm and 240mm)
Alphacool VPP655 D5 pump with Bitspower pump top/mod kit

What do you guys think?

Okay, the Hydro Copper 780 runs at:
  • 980Mhz Base Clock
  • 1500Mhz Memory clock.

Mine would do +125 Base clock OC and 275Mhz Memory OC, giving me 1175Mhz boost clock and 1775Mhz Memory clock. Rock solid and at a steady 38C. Any time I tried to go beyond those numbers by 25Mhz the driver would fail, black screen for a few seconds and then a driver error message.

Fucking Nvidia :-/ . I bet it's capable of at least double that if the voltage was unlocked. 38C? My ridiculous water loop feels like a complete waste for this generation... at least I still have the 85C+ i7-920, lulz.

I almost wonder if I should wait a couple months until hopefully someone makes a voltage-unlocked version or something :-S ...

P.S. Thanks for the numbers <3

Uh, not to freak you out or anything, but if I remember correctly, nickel-copper mix in the water loop introduces great possibility for corrosion... and most/all radiators are copper I think? You better read up on that, just search nickel copper corrosion or something... before you have to replace the entire loop because of corrosion gunk.

It might be plated against such corrosion though, or I might be entirely full of shit :p ... All I remember is specifically getting copper/acetal blocks for some specific reason. (and tbh, I like the copper look better than nickel)

I have built a couple of systems using this type of setup and am aware of the issues that can occur but with proper maintenance and upkeep on the system I never run into any problems. I think however that I will switch to copper next build which I am sure won't be too long into the future! haha

Haa, Six, I just did the same thing, totally stripped down all my 2 years old hardware from the case and totally replaced them with all the latest shit that is out there right now:

MSI Z87-GD65 GAMING Motherboard
Core i7 4770k CPU
Corsair H100i Water Cooling
Corsair 128Gig SSD
2 x Samsung SSD's 840 Series in RAID0 = 500gig
Kingston HyperX Beast 16Gig 2400Mhz DDR3 PC3-19200
1TB WD HDD - (to store all that homemade porn on, lol)
Corsair Air Series High Performance Fans all around (replaced the stock fans for the water cooler with them shits as well, best fans EVA)!
NZXT Sentry LX High Performance Fan Controller
NZXT Sleeved LED Case Light Kit (for even more bling)

So that's my current and NEW spec.

I have a bunch of spare parts laying around now, if anybody is interested, I will make a separate post on that.

Cheers!

Case a bit banged up, as its been with me for the past 4-5 years if not more
...the random wires you see are mostly temperature sensors, its still a work in progress... :-D
Still trying to decide which video card to get, either two 780s or one Titan, or something like that, I dunno yet, still got time before BF4 hits....Any thoughts or ideas?

Cheers

I'm waiting at this point, but if you have to have it the titan is the king right now.

It's not worth getting 2 780s right now. Nothing challenges this card from the BF series. Shit, if you want the big dog grab a titan but for me a single 780 is golden. It runs everything I want it to and does it smoothly and with high fps and no micro-stuttering.

No more HAF love? Is there much of a difference between the HAF we all had and your new case, or it really just splitting hairs? Just curious! Ninja edit: Looks great, btw!

Huge difference in cases; besides the cable management options the size is much larger. Here's a pic with the HAF 932 on the right and the Elysium on the left.

Sixer, that Xigmatek looks like a server tower... Lol.

Im still undecided if I wanna go with the new case or not, but I have decided on getting two 780's in SLI, already ordered em, should be here in a couple of days! :-D

I am looking at some cases to replace my Cooler Master HAF X case (as it does not have USB 3.0 headers), with something new, I guess, tell me what you think, if its even worth replacing that HAF case with one of these:

Amazon.com: Antec Twelve Hundred V3 Black Steel ATX Full Tower Gaming Case: Electronics
Amazon.com: Raidmax Raptor No Power Supply ATX Mid Tower Case (Black) ATX-823BR: Computers & Accessories
Amazon.com: AZZA Solano 1000 CSAZ-1000 Full Tower Case (Black): Electronics
Amazon.com: CM Storm Stryker - Gaming Full Tower Computer Case with USB 3.0 Ports and Carrying Handle (SGC-5000W-KWN1): Computers & Accessories - !!!!! Looovee this one, lol

I have this case now, but am replacing it with a Corsair Obsidian 800D. The Azza is a great case and has served me well the past two years, I just want a change.

I love cases which are built for watercooling. I have a CM ATCS 840 which was almost perfect, but I would go for an even bigger case in the future if I had to replace it. Not looking to replace it for now. It seems it's also been discontinued which makes me q_q because it's been an amazing case.

This shit: Amazon.com: Azza Genesis 9000B Full Tower Case, Black (CSAZ-9000B): Computers & Accessories

Maximum Capacity Water Cooling: Top Mount Radiator: supports up to 480mm radiator, Bottom Mount Radiator: supports up to 240mm radiator.

Is probably what I'd go for. The only thing I would have a concern about is the bottom mount radiator and air flow direction/picking up dust...

That's why I love the Elysium, it fits a 480 up top and a 360 down bottom :) Not that I have such a setup but if I wanted to go crazy I could.
