I'm at 1MB down 256K up. AT&T knocked on my door and told me they could give me 12 MB. I was like okay great do it. They called it in and they said they can't do it. My friend works for them and told me its available to some people in my apartments but I'm just a little too far from the CO. Comcast came in and laid down fiber and tried several times to get me to sign up. I am convinced they are evil and don't want to have to deal with monthly bandwidth caps and also their big brother monitoring. My friend has them and I have to download things for him.

It works fine for most games. Good latency and guaranteed bandwidth not shared. GTA V is the first game I suspect my bandwidth is not good enough for but that just tells me Rockstar's netcode is bloated compared to other games.

Maybe he is old school and still has a vhs tape player, with a big tube tv set in the corner of the garage where "all the old junk" is.
