Need Technical Help- Games wont start

So absolutely no games will start for me (steam and non-steam alike). What happens is when I attempt to open them up the screen turns black as if it is going to start but then immediately crashes to desktop. I have tried google to find answers and so far I have updated my video card to most recent updates and DirectX tells me that I have the most recent version.

Help Please :(
 
Did you install anything prior to this? What are the last changes that you remember from when it was working?
 
as far as I know I havnt done anything out of the ordinary. I just turned on my computer this morning and nothing worked
 
Interesting. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling your video drivers?
 
on my way to reinstalling drivers i decided to run a previous setting back to May 31st. It worked. HOORAAY!
 
Your MS .net files probably got corrupted with the updates. I had that happen once and had to reinstall the update pack and the 1.1 to fix the problem.
 
Probably that damned Nyan Cat. They are always up to trouble.

i am not PRO,but i have had the same problem,and sometimes,its matter of the replace the monitor rate,if its 60hrz turn it to 75hrz if its what ever turn it to different one,to do that you have to go
1. Right click open space on the desktop and click Properties.

2. Click the Settings tab.

3. Click the Advanced button.

4. Click the Monitor tab at the top.

5. Click the drop-down menu and click 60 Hertz.

6. Hit apply and exit.

try defferent ones and it should work

if none of this works,i would like you to change your video card setting hit reset botton,800 by 600 or something
