I just received an automated call from work saying the offices in the area are all closed tomorrow. But! It's not a day off... the message said, "Work from home if you can, or take a vacation day (ie counted against your time) if you can't."

All of the schools are already closed tomorrow.

The DC and Fed gov't is shut down tomorrow.

All over some wind and rain...

I can't wait for the SNOW! FML I hate Buffalo. Storm won't be as bad as the coast but it wil suck.

As of 1232EST, it's raining like a motherfucker, the wind is a 20MPH breeze (give or take) and it's just generally unpleasant outside. But thus far: no real need for panic or an emergency. Yet.

I drove Gravedigger into the office this morning vs. the Vette. While I have no problems driving the car in the rain, my concern is flooded roads. It's happened before. My boss is the only other person on my team (and his team, and a bunch of other teams) that came into the office this morning. We both got yelled at by an "essential person", who said we shouldn't have been let in the door given the office is officially closed. We both nodded our heads, thanked him for his concern, and went back to work.

I'm giving it another 10 hours, give or take, before I lose power. I'd be happy to be wrong about that...

Yeah a flooded vette would not be a good thing, but otherwise I am with you. I can't use my 4WD because I am in the middle of a slight tire size change the backs are just out of spec with the front's and until thats fixed all I have is a little ride height and weight over everything else on the road.

Should be hitting pretty hard on my way home from work in the morning.
 
I'm going to get my wind surfing board out I think and ride that on Erie Lake suckas! I did it before in Texas and its super fun. Cat 1 isn;t nothing. I got my thermal scuba suit on for this! haha
 
You're going to need that suit. Was playing around with the dog and got my feet wet the other day (Lake Erie) and it is not warm at all...lol

We are up to 40mph wind gust as of 2:55pm, we have one power pole that is leaning. The pole isn't broke, the ground is so soaked that it is pulling up the ground.

Just because its totally better than being in the Estonian whatever they call their fucking army doesn't mean you have to give up your mouse and copy of BF3 :p
