I built a new computer with I9 64 gigs of RAM blah blah blah. I still am using my older Sound Blaster sound card but the Sound Blaster Command app doesn't seem to see the difference between my headsets and speakers because I can only get sound through my headsets if I select speakers are plugged in.

Any recommendations?

I would use the motherboard sound, most motherboards have digital out, and 7.1 surround, plus you said the key word (old), maybe compatibility issues due to new stufff vs old.

I tried it and it sounded worse. The card is a Soundblaster Z SE. I found a list of compatible sound cards with Windows 11 and it was on the list. I am thinking the Sound Blaster Command app is not the correct ap for Windows 11. I am still researching.

Thank you for the reply!

another one here

if this doesnt work, i would possibly delete the drivers and app, and see if windows find the drivers on its own.

I have a Sound Blaster Z and never had any problems with it. However I am on at Windows 10, not W11.
I have used the SBZ card on at least five motherboards.
I am only using this file 'SBZSeriesDriverInstaller.exe' from Creative Labs.

Their other software is garbage.

On sale $50, awesome: https://us.creative.com/p/sound-blaster/sound-blaster-z

Check Windows sound settings and check out Device Manager.

Maybe the ZE Command Center is the problem, try just installing a driver.
