ARMA II Combined Operations

hey gang, I just bought this game today ArmA 2 and ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead combo.

I was wondering if anyone here has tried it yet. I noticed Soulzz posted a thread about it coming out a while back. here's some vids on it....

I liked it, but many people in TBG didn't have the patience to learn it.

Well.. since I spent $50 on the combo pack version of the game I'll put in some gametime and let you know what my opinion of it is in a few days...

now if I can just find my joystick...

I like simulators.. especially ones where you can team up with ppl and fight other people online. Realism isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I used to play it religiously... would have continued to play it but all the clans for it were way to intense- the kind of clan that had a daily live role call in the morning- kinda bs

I liked it, but you never could earn and keep a rank which annoyed me to no end. Every time you played it started over from the bottom which sucked.

I would love to set up a weekly play in it though if we could find enough people- I'll start communication with some arma 2 clans and see if we can't get a slot on some of the better servers.

I have it and would play it - we used to play this a lot

problem is no one else plays it - no problem getting on a server

Game looks pretty cool. I watched some cool youtube videos of attacks on towns. Pretty interesting to see a bunch of gunships attack a town at night.

you need 6 keyboards to map all the commands in the game. Its so overdone its harder than real life to play the game. That made it a total shitbag IMO.

The real issue, aside from having to rank up each time, is the maps are too huge. It takes 10 to 15 minutes, I'm not joking, to get into the action then one bullet kills you and you have to start all over again.

Played it, didn't like it. Took too long to get anywhere or find the enemy. I like jumping in and getting killed right away.
