Looks like the distributor problem is solved

Prague, Czech Republic, June 1st  Bohemia Interactive, creators of award winning military simulator games Operation Flashpoint and ArmA: Combat Operations and Valve Corporation, a developer of leading-edge technologies and software, announced today one of the most anticipated PC Game of 2009, ARMA II, is available for pre-purchase worldwide via Steam, Valve's leading platform for digital content distribution and management.

Bohemia Interactive once invented the genre of realistic military sand-box games and it aims now to re-define that genre with its upcoming game ARMA II, the ultimate military simulator, powered by the 3rd generation of their original Real Virtuality engine that's also used to train soldiers in numerous countries from Australia to the United States.

ARMA II will offer the ultimate realistic combat simulation experience in a modern day setting. With unprecedented freedom of movement, actions and tactics, the game will allow players to immerse themselves in battle as never seen before.

"Steam is one of the world's leading digital content distributors, allowing us to offer ARMA II to millions of their customers online" said Marek Spanel, CEO of Bohemia Interactive. "Bohemia Interactive is creating genre defining PC games and being in a position to work with one of the best digital content distributors in the business, as well as utilizing all of the superb features that Steam offers is very gratifying to us as a developer."

All right, has anyone used Steam? After EA download manager I am not thrilled to use a digital service again.

I used Steam for COD4 and it was 100x better than EA download crapware. You can pause the downloads and restart later, and I've never encountered any installation corruption like I did with the EA crap. Also, after downloading, you can burn the image to a DVD so you don't have to rely on the files being on your pc.

I downloaded it at total of 3 times, installed it twice on XP and once on Vista with Zero problems. I trust Steam after using it, but will never use that EA crapware.

EA makes me nervous with norhtern stike from 2006, it still lets me download it tho. i downloaded mirrors edge a few weeks ago and id hate to loose that if my "1yr" download expires.

with steam, i reinstalled vista then re-downloaded my games again. i do have FFoW backed up to 2 dvd set. portal and L4D downloaded with no probs, and i own the hardcopy of L4D.

its a smooth system.

Agreed, Steam is loads better then that EADM crap.

steam is great, never had a problem with it
huge selection of games to buy/play on steam, and the friends list is nice because its for all of steam not just 1 game

I was real hesitant with the whole Steam thing at first but it's really convenient. I have hard copies of games but since they are Valve games i don't even need the DVD/CD just login to my account and I can install my games anywhere anytime without the disc. Not to mention their prices are usually pretty good.

Awesome ARMA 2 Night Fight. This really makes me want to get the game even more!!
