Playing some Wticher 2 atm and noticing a few slowdowns. I've decided it's time to give my rig a shot in the arm.
Currently I'm running a Geforce GTX 275 FTW edition:
Newegg.com - EVGA 896-P3-1173-AR GeForce GTX 275 FTW Edition 896MB 448-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Supported Video Card

The two im lookin at right now are the 560 ti superclocked and the 570 superclocked
Newegg.com - EVGA SuperClocked 01G-P3-1563-AR GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
Newegg.com - EVGA SuperClocked 012-P3-1572-AR GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Which would you choose? Is it worth it to spend the extra 100 for the 570? Or are there other cards you'd suggest? I'm trying to stay away from the ATI cards because of bad experiences with their drivers. Plus it seems like nvidia is always ontop of puttin out beta drivers quite quickly.

I recommned the 560Ti. But Im not liking nVidia. I agree ATI drivers are crap, but they also have the number one card on the market which obv isn't something your looking to spend the money on. I just say stick with the 560Ti and be on your way. Then again I love my 5870's there some of the most powerful cards out there. Also love my 6950, its putting in ALOT of work. :) Up to you though. Plus about the 570, you can always SLI them later ;)

I'd go with AMD cards. I haven't had much problems with their drivers.......yet.

you mean ati dork first of all ati is shit compared to nvidia the oc speeds crush ati any day second there drivers are flawless on all games. Eat my shorts ati

if your dumb first off. second off all my shit is oc and with zero problems you just need to know what your doing and monitor it well.

Your choice! I have the EVGA 560Ti in my new build and am enjoying it. It was a nice upgrade from my old GTX 260. I wanted to get the 570, but couldn't fit it into the budget.

Was the upgrade real noticeable?

Not really. FPS are about 10-20 higher depending on which game I am playing. However, there is a nice improvement in the texel and pixel rate.

Never again. Aha. 6990 blows EVERY card on the market away. Fastest known card on the market. During benchmarks 570's blow a 6950 away. Gameplay its opposite a 6950 wipes a 570's ass just because of the V-Ram inside them, which nVidia has still yet to figure out. Besides them finally putting a 3GB GFX card out which yet to say is 729$. If your running multi moniters AMD is the way to go. If your running one 570's is a good way to go. I love AMD right now with my 6950's and the ATI 5870's. But its totally your call. I love AMD/ATI but if your more nVidia stick with them. The drivers thankfully haven't messed up single moniter triple moniter is a issue but I think im the only guy here that has tripple moniters lol.

you shouldn't OC the video card. If anything it could harm it.
OVERVOLTING is dangerous, overclocking much less so and theyre not the same thing though with any extreme change overvolting is necessary.

Never raise the voltage and crank the fan just a little. Tell me if you manage to break it cause i'd have to laugh so hard and then hire a team of engineers to find out what happened.

Heat and voltage kill. Don't mess with the voltage and keep heat under control, your free to push the limits of your chip sample to what it will do at that voltage. Don't expect to get far.

There is no such thing as overclocking anyways, its just plain clocking especially with graphics cards since theyre clock speeds are entirely software controlled. CPU's its a different story on the post manufacturer level but pre manufacturer they dont make a chip with a certain clock speed. They bin tested samples destined to be a speed it can handle at a particular voltage.

Point is clock speed doesnt kill, unless you count data loss under crash conditions lol.

yeah i was referring to the fan. Most people don't know this and screw it up.

I buy what's good at mid-range usually. Right now, AMD and NVIDIA are neck and neck, so it's hard to say. I have a 6870 myself, and don't have any issues. As for CPU, I have an Intel Core-i7.

Yeah they are neck and neck your correct. But AMD CPU's a still garbage even looking at the Bulldozer test I saw. Not that impressive lol
