The economic universe is intriguing, however I hope that the combat will not interfere with it.

What exactly can you do with this game? Is it just combat for now?

So I'll bite but I feel like this is a trolling question:

There is more than meets the eye. I'm currently in the PTU (public test universe) where they released 2.0 in pre-alpha. It encompasses many of the items talked about in the conventions, videos, and what not. Currently it contains two worlds where you can disembark, a mini-verse where you can do a small number if missions, systems where you can 'quantum' travel (i.e warp, hyperjump, slipstream) to and of course the social side where you can go to different shops and interact with different players. Soom there will be a single player mission setup for Squadron 42 where they recently unveiled Mark Hamill as one of the voice actors, so you know, there is legitimacy here. (if you're too young to remember, he was a voice actor in the Wing Commander series of games.)

The FPS will be added soon while they lock down some of the major bugs in the PTU.

So @Maliksky I hope that answers your question. And @Chocolate_Ch3rry I don't blame you given how people are impatient and constantly complain about the development. Some of the stuff I've seen coming down the pipeline is amazing and just needs to be polished and many of the ships are either in production or ready to be added. Like any AAA title, it takes years, something most folks don't agree with or want to comprehend. I'd say wait and if feel it's worth it in a year or so, then I invite you to check it out.

Right now it is. Just like any sim, you can also outfit your ships any way you want. If you check out the site, you can see the whole range of ships from planetary Militias to Megaships for trading and mining. Keep in mind, those are pledge prices for backing the game. Everything will be available to purchase when the game comes out with ingame money. there are also racers, rescue ships, exploration, cargo among the others.

Nothing is set in stone, but I can foresee being able to purchase bay space for an office, or an asteroid base for pirate operations. Right now they are concepts as the main parts of the game are still being fleshed out.

As for the character, there will be quite a bit of personalization but that will be down the road.
