My Galaxy s6 went from not great battery life to horrid with the 6.0.1 update. Is anyone else having similar issues on other Android phones? I'm under AT&T with their next plan.

Hmm. I've had it for 8 months. Maybe I should do a factory reset.

Look into Nexus 6p with Google Project Fi. It's a pure Android phone without all the extra stuff that no one uses. With my last Samsung phone I'd have to spend at least an hour disabling all that crap as well as Verizon's and of course you can't uninstall it.

I've been very happy with the battery life on my lg g5

Before you get a new phone try this. Download the Samsung Kies 3 software and do a complete backup of your phone. Once you've done that factory reset it, then restore from your backup. Your battery problem has happened to me once or twice and this method usually fixes the issue.

From what I've gathered is that sometimes the update does not always mesh well with what is currently installed. And resetting it and starting a clean slate fixes it. Think of it like an update on Windows corrupted the registry and your course of action is to reinstall. Nice thing about using Kies is that it saves all of your data and personal things like your full messaging history, emails, pics, etc.

@Irishian88J what could be causing this issue?

Its the gov. turning on your camera and mic. Clearly you are visiting extremists and the CIA wants to use your device against you.

Edit: Also love my Nexus 6, over a year old and still kickin GREAT!

Loved my nexus 6 but was too big for me after awhile.
Still at 5.1 with my galaxy s5 active. No problem with battery life.

@Soulzz it's all that gay porn on your phone.
S5 is beast of a phone.

The S5 is what I currently have. You're right @DocHolliday it is a beast of a phone most solid one I've had in a very very long time. I'm going to hold onto it as long as possible, and if it dies just get another S5. Lol

I have s5 and ready for a new phone. I saw the asus zenfone 3 and it looks pretty nice. Anyone go info about their previous phones a bit if they are good or junk?

I had the s5 active for awhile. I loved that phone. I cracked the screen a week ago and just bought an S7. It's pretty damn nice. I wasn't going to upgrade to a new galaxy until they gave us removable batteries again, but shit happens I guess.

I'm going to try the factor reset when I'm home and disable many useless app notifications.

@FossilMaker31 i have the zenfone 2e, the att prepaid option, and honestly its the only time ive been disappointed with asus. the launcher likes to crash and i had to get a texting app, cause the default messenger would lose msgs. like id either not receive some msgs or ppl wouldnt get mine. it was a software issue that hopefully they got fixed for the 3. but im timid about getting another asus phone and most likely will go back to HTC or Samsung when this one finally shits out.
