Newegg Windows 7 promo

same deals also available at best buy, amazon, frys, microsoft store
i preordered home premium from best buy cuz i had a gift card i needed to use up, hard to find something at best buy thats not a ripoff compared to places like amazon, but this price is universal

I wonder why Circut City went of busniess? Best Buy is next.

not sure how best buy is doing financially, but if i had to go out and buy an electronic thing like the same day and couldnt order online thats probably where I'd go
i dont see it going out of business, especially with its main competition gone

BestBuy wont go out because they always change the nature of the beast. Now they compete with Guitar Center in my state. That is they sell Musical instruments now.

Already installed BF2142 on it and get the punkbuster message like Vista not being run in administration mode. Haven't had the time to research it.

best buy has a lot of innovations coming. hopefully you dont have a store that blows near you. its the staff that makes the store. the local one here has a like a .0 turnover for the last 5yrs.

anyway, would the upgrade work on a hacked vista. and, im guessing "upgrade" doesnt mean full install. as in, if i do a system restore i cant just use the upgrade disc.

therefore, i assume id install the upgrade then make an image of the clean upgrade from vista.

dont think it will work on hacked vista, but u could probably just get a hacked windows 7 lol
from what ive read i believe for the upgrade you have to first have vista installed, but u can then choose the do a clean install of windows 7 on your harddrive instead of upgrade install

but you do need a key tho unless you have an activator or keygen but they are illegal and i shall not delve into that area

I haven't been keeping up with Win7. Is the home edition going to be limited on the ram you can use as well?

[blockquote]but u can then choose the do a clean install of windows 7 on your harddrive instead of upgrade install [/blockquote]

If that's the case I'll do the upgrade; but only if it's a clean install.

From what I've read, going the Win7 upgrade route does allow you the option of a clean install. Since that is the case, I'll do the upgrade and just go with a clean installation.

yep
and i believe home premium i believe has a 16gb limit on ram, so u should be fine
dont remember where i saw that though

Here are the upper RAM limits for the different editions of Windows 7:

* Starter: 8GB
* Home Basic: 8GB
* Home Premium: 16GB
* Professional: 192GB
* Enterprise: 192GB
* Ultimate: 192GB

Oh, if you want to preorder newegg is doing free shipping where ms is charging for shipping.
