With the first major driving holiday of the summer season approaching, we have analyzed the laws across the country to determine the best and the worst states when it comes to exploiting the motoring public.

These state rankings were calculated using seventeen criteria related to specific traffic laws, enforcement practices, and the treatment of traffic ticket defendants. The rankings are designed to provide guidance to travelers who do not want their vacation ruined by speed traps, arcane laws or "kangaroo" traffic courts.

Yeah representing New Jersey, where if you drive like a pussy you'll probably die. This is one of those places where if you drive defensively, or a minivan, you're pretty fucked.

This is a ranking of the states that you don't want to be in the wrong. Last week I got a ticket for going through the "authorized vehicle" drive on the I-94. I was in a jam that was 5miles long and heard on the radio that they shut down the interstate because a bridge under construction shifted 6"; thus, not reopening for 5 weeks. Instead of directing people through this lane to an offramp 500ft. away, there were two state popo's writing tickets. I guess the cop didn't think it was funny when I said, "I guess I'm not authorized today." As for agressive driving the states have laws that most people follow, try driving in Australlia...what, everybody drives on the wrong side of the road. Russia & Mexico......holy shit 10-2 white knukle fest..

Our bridge is being shifted 6" too. A new BS excuse by the state highway dept. I-71 bridge is being moved 6" to the left. They are building another 8 lane bridge. So there will be 2 bridges going in opposite directions.

Indiana #43! I live in the sticks, which is a plus also. I just have to make sure I stay out of Ohio if I want to survice. I need to be careful when I go to King's Island.

Only people I've seen on patrol are are the the highway patrol and sheriffs.
