I am a car guy I have always loved cars since I was a kid.

Specifically I loved Mustangs.

Anyway back in July I bought a nice used 2000 Mustang GT it was an automatic with some bolt on stuff.

3.55 gears BBK intake and 75mm TB with tunes.

I loved it and vowed I would not drive it through the winter. Fast forward its march and I went through the entire winter driving on my summer tires and I felt bad but finding a good used winter beater was tough.

One day I found a 2005 Cobalt and I decided to go buy it if it looked good. I showed up kicked the tires was not impressed and was walking away when I seen a black mustang. I thought hmm.. might be a V6 that would be decent to drive in the winter since I have plans to turbo my current Mustang GT.

Well, this car turned out to be a 2001 Mustang GT with less than 50k Miles on it and not molested. with a 5 speed.

So my buddy started sweet talking the salesmen pretending to be interested, while I looked of the car we fired it up noticed it had a few Mods:

18 inch Cobra take offs, cat back exhaust, and a bunch of suspension parts from Maximum Motorsports. ( if you know Mustangs you know how good these parts are ) and the engine is untouched.

I started to get excited about the car. So the guy went back to get a plate and I told my buddy " When I say its not bad you act like you don't want it." ( because the entire time the salesmen has been thinking he wants to buy it.)

SO we get back from the drive, car is tight and feels good ( I know phrasing)

I say its not a bad car, my buddy says he likes it but its too old and he wants the 05+ body style. I said to the salesmen if he is not interested I will buy it today as is for $6000 ( Going price for a car like this in Alberta is 10-12k I have even seen as high as 14k ) Salesmen goes to talk to the manager comes back and says "we were hoping to get 8500 it is a nice car and all but we just got it as a trade so it needs to go for inspection" I said " I don't care about the inspection, give me your best price." goes back to the manager and finally the manager comes out to speak to me says the best he can do is 7500, I said 6900 because I know you probably only gave the guy 3000 for the car as is, he thought about it and finally said "sold"

So to summarize I got 2001 Mustang GT with 76000km's for $6,900 and down the road at a nearby dealership was 2003 with 78k auto for sale for $14000.

Nice. So...where are the pics???? Congratulations on getting a good one at a great price.

And thats the winter beater.

Damn, looks like you stole that one! Great job, that's in really good condition.

She will be getting a X-pipe, a tune, and some 3.73's because the stock 3.27's are just awful.

look at that grass! Looks like you got some competetion six
I was thinking how a certain somebody would be in heaven looking at that! Now if we could only get a pic of the lawn without any obstructions...

I've owned a couple one almost killed me; totaled a 2001 mustang bullitt. Also, had a 92 drop top that made panties drop. So, now I have a 2010 Cherokee SRT8 pushing 450 ponies. I wanted a 2009 cobra but my ex totaled my winter beater; so I had to compromise a year round vehicle with some HP.

To be honest the green car is pretty freaking fun as well,

I sold my 2003 F-150 to get out of owning a lifted truck. ( Lifted trucks are gas guzzling, front end eating, pigs not to mention tires were 2500 on all 4 corners ) I also was sick of proving to women I was not small in the pants.

I always wanted a Mustang and knew I would be getting a winter beater so I bought the green car.

Mint interior mild mods and for a automatic it was fun ( you need a custom tune to really wake the auto cars up)

but I dreaded winter coming, for winter means snow, ice and shitty roads.

I have driven it all winter, I put a couple pounds of weight in the rear and its easily much easier to drive in winter than my civic was. I am also driving on summer tires.

So going forward, I have a exhaust leak to fix on this car as well as battery and alternator.

So that means good battery with cold cranking amps high output alternator and 2.5 inch exhaust from the manifolds back. (thinking offroad H pipe and Mac cat back) and keeping it daily driver friendly.

my first mustang was a 1988 LX 2.3 car that had a 5.0 swapped in, the car had idling issues, the seat was bent the interior was hacked apart no sound system the engine leaked oil and the wiring harness was hacked together and held together with butt splices duct tape and hopes and dreams had a cheap BBK knock off intake shorty headers and full exhaust.

Yet this POS smelly pig of a car was good for 13.2 in the 1/4

I sold it to a friend for $1000 bucks and shed a tear.

Later that year he got hit by a old lady while she was turning left on a red.

Past Car 2000 Civic Si - Fully built motor boosted to 385hp at the wheels (was incredibly fun because nobody expected a civic to actually be fast)

Motor in the civic, is that a B16?

Either way the b series that honda made are amazing engines, and can make amazing power on or off boost. nice engine bay I can eat off the valve cover I like that.

350z in burnt orange... love it.

00 Si had a B16A2 out of the box so unless he decided to swap, probably.

Yep. I pulled the B16A2 and rebuilt it with forged parts throughout. Polished the head and sleeved the block. Wish I would have kept it sometimes. I had plans for 500whp.
