I'm sure almost all of you already have a good headset. I went all super cheap and bought a POS Insignia and well I got what I paid for. Thing barely works. Any suggestions on a particular manufacturer or model? Links would be appreciated.

Sennheiser.

I think it kind of depends. Do you have a sound card? Are you interested in a headset with a built in sound card or amplifier?
The reason I ask is even with high end motherboards and their higher quality onboard sound, they just suck ass in comparison to a dedicated sound card. And if you're going to spend money on a decent set of cans then why do that if all you'll be hearing is muffled shit?

Anyway, my recommendation is get a sound card and one of these:

Senheier PC 350 http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-Sp...d=1424801271&sr=8-3&keywords=sennheiser+gamer

Sennheiser's are my personal favorite, but Asros are a good option too for a little less or more money depending on what you get.

I was hesitant to shell out money for the seinheisers, but fucking worth every penny. They sound great with out a soundcard.....but they will make yer balls drop again with the soundcard! amazing sound quality!

I use the Plantronics game com 780 I think going on year 2 and still sound great and comfortable also affordable. I had a set before the ones I have now which im sure would still be using but got a puppy and she chewed the cord so I have since found a new place to store them and the pup no longer chews on cords after the lamp incident. may sound mean but seen her on the lamp cord said fuck it. she got lit up and my cords haven't been touched since. the puppy story wasn't needed but entertaining

I have the Sennheiser PC 350 Special Edition and love them. Had the left sound go out and Sennheiser was quick to replace them. No sound card and they work great. Might get one soon though.

well what did ya get damn it its like xmas all you said was you ordered

back home again?
Yeah I'm home, pretty close to end of contract so Ill be free again. I paid my buck o' five.

I ordered the Plantronics 780 and since I have super shitty Insignia that decides when it does and doesn't want to ACTUALLY MOVE AND THEN GET ME KILLED!, I bought a Logitech G700S mouse.

I was rocking the Corsair Vengeance 1500 until cable messed up on me, great feel, a little heavy though and makes ear tired from cushions, now I got Siberia V3. Great sound and much lighter. No matter what you get just make sure you get (if possible) a 2 year in-store replacement warranty. This will cover your risk of buying $80+ headphones.

I use wireless, I hate the wire being in my way. I currently use the Astro a50 wireless editions and let me tell you what, awsome!!!! They are a little pricey but well worth it. It does have 7.1 surround sound, which is basically a decoded surround but for being headphones they are pretty dam close to the real thing. I can hear the foot steps and which they are coming from as well. Stay aways from the corsair 2100 if you have a 2.4mhz wirelss router they interfere alot, the Astro's run on 5.4 so there is no problems. They also work with PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and Xobox one Here is a link to the headsets I have: http://www.astrogaming.com/s/AGUS/a50-wireless-headset/A50-WIRELESS-HEADSET-ASTRO-GEN2-PS3.html
