Back in the day 1968 I was trained and fired one of these bad boys. Yes they are real the top two rockets were HE the bottom tubes one was WP and the other was Incendiary. Cool but not really that practical

Its like the law in bf4 under powered. Back then the law was not to reliable. The rockets missed fired when they first came out. Now the M-79 was a bad muther fucker. I couldnt miss with it. Although, a different animal. This weapon is still around today I'm sure upgraded.

I believe the M203 was the replacement for the M79 and was attached to a M16 , quite accurate with a good kill radius. 0f course that was for us Army pogues and not you Jarheads ! :)

The Corps kept the M79 around because we still had some in Panama in -89. I fired the rocket launcher you put up, I think it was the M202. We were pretty much the last to try it in ITS as it had a nasty reputation for the rockets igniting shortly after launching. We got the Mk19 when I was stationed in Hawaii and it rocked. I was also in one of the first units to get the AT-4 and the M249 (which is an awesome weapon).

The M203 was a 40 mm round which was the same round used in the M79, I served back in the 70's and don't know what the boys are using now.

No, we had the 203, but still had M79s in the warehouses because they never throw anything away. Hell, the army got rid of jeeps and other vehicles in the DPDO dump in Panama. The Marines left Panama with like 50 of them cobbled together from parts in the dump. We didn't bring any there, but we sure left with a lot of them!

We done the same thing at 3rd FSSG we cobbled all types of equipment together just to get something running. Generators were on top of that list
