Airborne Laser Weapon Test Successfully Shoots Down Missile

The US Department of Defense breathed a sigh of relief this week as the Airborne Laser prototype managed to shoot down a missile in a test last week. The 747-mounted weapon concept was successful despite a downscaling of the project from seven aircraft to just one. Or so they’re telling us. Now where’s my tinfoil hat?
