I just noticed that today the new 3DMark is available. It wasn't last night when I checked but oh well. You can get it here: 3DMark.com

DirectX 11 testing can begin
After a slight delay, but just in time for the new GTX 570, Futuremark has finally released its latest benchmark suite, dubbed 3DMark 11.

The new 3DMark brings some new features like tessellation, ambient occlusion and volumetric lightning in order to bring the most powerful GPUs to their knees. The new benchmark has four graphics tests, a physics test and a combined one to test the entire rig.

As before, the new 3DMark 11 has three different levels, entry, performance and extreme, where various settings are changed in order to give as much trouble as it is possible to the new GPUs.

It is available in three versions, Basic, Advanced and Professional. The Basic one is free, while the Advanced and Professional will set you back for US $19.95 and US $995.

Perhaps some explanation on what this is for a poor soul? lolz

You've never heard of 3Dmark?
It's the benchmarking utility used worldwide for testing PC systems and graphic cards. It's like a stress test to see how fast your system or graphics card is and you can use the benchmark to compare your system to other systems.

For instance, you can run the tests and see your scores online like at this link: http://3dmark.com/3dmv/2779597

I'll download this and play with it when I get home tonight, but it looks like their servers are getting overwhelmed right now-yikes!

I'm glad you posted this I forgot that I get a free copy with my purchase of gtx 580.

Sweet. That's a nice sales perk with your GPU.

It doesn't look like we'll be seeing high numbers for the new 3DMark scores. I was pretty appalled at my score, but much less so once I saw a couple of reviews. Anyway, here's what my system got: Result

ATI people are not going to like their scores, the 3DMark11 benchmarks lean toward Nvidia. Didn't somebody post something about the fastest DX11 card?

who's 3D mark and why are there marks on his benches?
