I was thinking how it might change up the game play and serve a double purpose to be able to clear out the out-of-bounds players as well as roofs and whatnot. (I almost listed out all of the benefits, but you guys have played this game before. :)

Anyway, please consider trying it.

Thank you very much!

..and yes, I realize I'm a new forum member who has [checks with accountant] contributed ZERO dollars to the server. :)

Thank you for considering my request none the less. :)

We still value any feedback new or old.

Spectate should be a huge help. I kind of wish we had votekick too, but not sure that a few of the really good players might get unjustly targeted. It is tough without the admin that used to be on there really frequently before the game got too old.

I’m not the biggest fan of the idea either, and not sure it will curb the roofing or the UCAV/mortars from spawn, but it will be interesting. The uncap areas are not that equal on that map, so the US has a decisive advantage IMO. There are a few areas on the map that can get isolated beacons put on them that are very hard to attack so maybe it will alleviate some of that.

If I were god for a day I would bring back a few ofthe other maps we used to have in the rotation on that server instead of being a single loop, but I’m sure not evryone would like the maps I liked, etc.

Just played a few rounds where either just our team had a commander or just their team did. Honestly it's super broken, either you're always spotted or they are and the cruise missile clips through walls and building kill players who are in cover. IMO the server was much more enjoyable without it, though the spectate mode is highly appreciated.

Good: spectator mode. Bad: commander mode (Not something good for smaller infantry maps imo).

This echos my sentiments as well. Commander is absurdly broken when only one team has it, especially on a tiny map like pearl market. And from my experience there usually is only one commander online. Cruise Missiles ignore line of sight so even if you're in cover, you will still die from it.

I hear you - but you're wrong on the clipping. Each and every time I placed a missile that wiped out your whole squad, it was either in the street (like when you guys were between "A" and "E" and also when people were under the garage-doored areas between "B" and "A" . I'm sure it's much more fun when you guys squad-up and destroy other teams, but I played nearly all day yesterday as a commander and the scores weren't as lopsided as when you and the rest of the LMF crew decimate players. Again, the wall clipping thing is just incorrect.

What I will say is that there were some commanders whop hopped on to oppose me who didn't really know how to use the features to their advantage. Randomly doing proxy attacks rather than when they launch missiles and using supply drops. So sure, it's broken, but only so far as how poorly they know how to work it.

I appreciate the admin's letting this happen and I'm sorry the few guys who sqaud up and get 100+ kills per game had their gameplay effected. I'm sure it was much more enjoyable for you at the cost of other players.

Just making sure we're on the same page, but it sounds like you're saying that it's okay for commanders to be broken when one side has it and the other doesn't because it can help one team not get steamrolled by high skill players? How about when there's one commander on the team with high skill players? As amusing as I find it to essentially have ESP and map hacks via commander, I can guarantee that it would not be fun to be on the receiving end of it.

I'm all for having to counter something, within the scope of the core game itself. Switching to engineer to deal with vehicles, swapping grenades when dealing with excessive claymore spam, etc etc. Commander is entirely different. That physically requires me to stop playing a first person shooter and swapping to a pseudo-rts game. It's not enjoyable and at the end of the day, commander is not balanced unless there's one on each team. No one should be required to stop playing the core game to balance the core game.

My .02 anyway.

Map it's too small for commander, you get spotted all the time and it would be a huge advantage for players that like to play with mortar and ucav from uncap, It's already hard enough to avoid ucav and mortar, being spotted all the time would make it 10 times worse + all the reasons pinchy already said.
