Moved to FLA and where I live all I can get here is ATT and I think I'm gonna have to do wireless any suggestions on how to boost my signal from the ATT modem, I was thinking a N series router with a good desk top wireless card. I could hard wire right to the rig but then I need about 20 feet of cat5 or 6 and then figure how to route it under the carpet.

Any thoughts?

where at in fla.? west palm here. ATT sucked for me the singnal was shitty i have plenty of wire if your around here
 
TWC was the best I could get in Melbourne, Florida(15MB / 5MB). They did do some FIOS tests there in certain neighborhoods, but sadly mine was not one of them. I did run a wireless connection for a while. Was not even N like you are talking about. It took some getting used too. I could play, but my ping was three times what I am used too.

I would run a CAT 5 cable if at all possible. If you have carpet you can run it along the carpet and baseboard and push it under the baseboard. Use something dull (like this) to push it under the baseboard. If you have to go under the carpet don't put the cable in a major walkway area. If you do have to run it under a lot of carpet an electrical fish (Electrical fish) will come in handy. You should be able to pull up quite a bit of carpeting off the tack strips to run any wiring. Don't pull up too much, because then you'll need a knee hammer to get it back into shape. I have pulled up 10 foot sections to run cabling before without any problems in putting it back on the tack strip.

Carpet in Florida? That's a rarity. Most homes I have had or been in had hard wood or tile.
 
LOL..we have both Bob,carpet and tile,its a brand new place,think I am going to go with the cat,My ping is steady at 100 when I'm hard wired which is about 3 times higher also,I think I am at 12,going to bump it to 16mb

Razor I'm in Miramar,west of Hollywood,my new job takes me into WPB eveyday,as far up as PGA Blvd.

Thanks for the help,will see what we can do about the cabling.
 
My shop in at 10th ave and I 95 call me if u want to come get the wire bellsouth forgot to take it when the put in my shop phones have 500 ft or so.
