Basically, it's awesome.

It's a really really strong entry in the "WW2 Aircraft Combat" category.

The graphics are quite amazing - the textures/engine they used really push the limits on current game hardware - and deliver a quality experience for it. A lot of ground detail - I dare say more/better quality than I've seen in any flight sim yet - and looking acceptably even close-up.

Sound is OK, nothing overly special. Annoying symphonic music plays in the background but that can be turned off if needed.

What's really good imo, is the gameplay. It strikes a perfect (and adjustable) balance between being annoyingly realistic and too arcady.

There is a hud/target highlighting/tracking/leading, but I'm sure that can be turned off if desired for the ultimate experience.

Ran fine at maximum (for demo - which does not have "super megatextures") details at 1920x1080 with 4xaa. Not sure what FPS were at exactly, but it was above 30 for sure, consistently. GTX 260 c216.

Only thing I didn't like overly much were the clouds. Not thick enough for my liking, and they disappear oddly, but it's probably for performance reasons. Ground engine and airplane models are taxing enough already...

Just see the demo. If you have an interest in flying planes, you will not be disappointed.

The only disappointment is that it's really expensive ($50) for now - but it's only been out for less than a month. It is also only digital distribution (for now?) - so Steam or some shitty yuPlay service only. No chance of buying a cheap copy from Taiwan, sadly.

They're also annoyingly selling DLC planes for $3 a piece, which is not a model I'd like to support, but I will if I find this game cheaper. It's very well-done. Not sure if multiplayer works well - the demo is SP only.

Yeah, I think it's the same company... or developers under a new name or something.

That's exactly the idea behind it - IL-2 Sturmovik on steroids, with adjustable flight model (so it can be arcade too, if that's what you're into!).

It's good, very very good.

The videos don't really do it justice. I'd recommend playing the demo if you have any interest in this game to experience the engine's full glory. Here's a couple more anyway :-D :

Yes, there are a lot of "arcade" features - such as hud elements/enemy picture-in-picture cam/enemy pilot screams as they're shot down etc., but I believe they can all be turned off for maximum realism. If they can't, I'm pretty sure they'll be patched soon. The game comes from a developer who understands what realism is.
 
is this a keyboard/mouse game or joystick?

You can play with just KB/mouse, but I highly not recommend it.

Some kind of rate-enabled controller (joystick/gamepad with analog sticks) is highly required to avoid sucking hard...
