My mother asked for one of my laptops. I am just going to give her the $230 dollar Acer I have which has a quad core bay trail in it. Which is what most of these 10 inch windows tablets has. Some down sides and upsides. I have been tempted to grab one of these tablets for giggles. Even though I just bought an android tablet.

First 2 that come to mind are the ASUS Transformer T100 - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=9514701
As well as Micro Centers WinBook TW100 - http://www.microcenter.com/product/437498/TW100_101_Tablet_-_Black
The ASUS comes with its keyboard at that price, Add 50 to the winbook for its.

Downsides coming from a $200 laptop:
- 2 GB of ram versus 4 GB
- 32 GB of storage + maybe 128 GB MicroSD versus a 500GB HDD
- Lower CPU/GPU clock speeds (on relatively the same chip).

Upsides:
- Touchscreen!
- Removable Keyboard?

Both of these run "full" x86 windows, though it is the Bing edition. The ASUS has a longer battery life than the WinBook. They both charge via MicroUSB which means the 7800maH battery I carry to charge my phone will charge these which is nice. Cant do that with the laptop. But 64 bit windows on 2GB of ram...

If I could afford it I would get one of these 8 tablets for my parents. I'm tired of resurrecting old laptops.

They have an 7 inch Winbook for like 60 bucks. But it has no storage space and 1GB of ram is a real downer lol. The cheaper 8 inch is the same.

I might still get the 8 inch version of the WinBook for giggles. But I have decided against the 10 inch version altogether.

Picked up a TV instead:

Still trying to figure out a desk configuration that works. Tried it out as my main screen and then decided against it. Had to prop the desktop up on the farming machine so I could still have it on the desk and not have it facing backwards. Not really liking the gap, though some people might just hate the PS3 as the filler :p

Triple monitor on a single GTX 570, Intel for the win!

You need a bigger desk. Barring that, I'd switch places with the new TV and the small silver monitor.

My desk wraps all the way down the opposite wall how the fuck do I need a bigger desk? It just makes no sense to put the TV on the other end since it would be closer to my face and not visible from the bed :p

Initially I actually killed off the old monitor altogether.

Here is how it was when I set it up before. Merged 4 quick shots from my phone into a panorama. So its horrible:

I liked it like that but moving the smaller monitor back wouldn't be very centered. Didn't want the PC or the PS3 to be facing backwards, the PS3 is sitting where the tower might have ended up.

Fine. Send me the PS3 for safe-keeping then you'll have plenty of room on your desk. Geez. Such a damn crybaby. :D

That ASUS... making me look for my CC... must... RESIST!!
