In short don't open lock boxes with the intention of getting mining claims. Seems as if the odds were reduced into oblivion. It also seems like they change the odds on the Dominion box to match.
Used to be able to open 20 boxes and on average get at least 10 claims and on a good day I could open 20 and get 46. Now you cant even garuntee you would get any.
Guy test opened 2000 boxes on each faction so a total 6000 test opens and this was the result:
6000 boxes is 7500 dollars worth of real money keys bought individually or 6750 at the 10 pack discount. Resulting in 1616 claims by this guys test.
Buying keys in 10's by my non sleepy math thats $4.17 a claim. A claim gets you 5000 dilithium. $4.17 would if you could buy less than 5 dollars of zen buy 417 zen. The current market conversion to dilithium is 125 but even at 100 per thats 41,700 dilithium.
By my luckiest day 20 boxes at a cost of $22.50 netted me 46 claims which would get me 230,000 dilithium. $22.50 would get me 225,000 dilithium at a conversion rate of 100. So back then on a good day you could break even, now you cant even come close. Some might ask why risk it even before well we got a TON of other free shit along with it. Thats why but now thats not even worth the risk.
Also the odds of getting the duty officer packs is high and its harming the duty officer market making us less money. In short the way we used to make money is over and we probably wont be ballin the way we started out. The worker accounts are probably not going to be working on a regular schedule like planned. We will still use them but plans have been hurt for sure.
The good news is Cryptic just confirmed Fleets are getting a dilithium holding which will help out fleet wise.
