Many people are looking to know whether second generation Ryzen is worth the upgrade or not, but since it was released very recently, there is a lack of benchmark results coming from real life users.

Here is some of my 3D Mark Results with my Ryzen 2700X

For thermals, I resat HW iNFO clock and started multiple Time Spy benchmarks to simulate a real world gaming load. The benchmarking looped for around 37 minutes. Here are the results:

I've heard the 2nd gen Ryzen is quite a substantial improvement from 1st gen in all aspects.

Except for the thermals. My new liquid cooling for Ryzen 2700X is 280mm and is better than that of the 1600X which is 240mm. Nonetheless, Ryzen 1600X still maintains cooler temps. But getting up to 4.3 Ghz out of the box is awesome.

very nice. are you noticing higher FPS in games?

Yes, mostly with the minimum FPS. Here are benchmarks for Rise of the Tomb Raider.

The settings were all set to very high at 1440p and AA was modified to SSAA×2. The average was 77.4 for 1600X, but 85 with 2700X update. This is 10% improvement. For almost 90$ difference between 1600X and 2700X, it may not seem as much of an improvement. The minimum FPS changed drastically, from 19.8 to 34.1 in Syria and from 15 to 41.9 in Geothermal Valley. You will therefore get smoother game play but not significantly higher average FPS.

How much of a bump were the thermals?
I did not try the older cooling on the newer CPU, so I have no idea, but Master Liquid 240 does excellent job for its price, but it is fairly noisy.

Well, this is an excellent step in the right direction for AMD.
