Possible new build

I am working on possible new build for a home PC. I need it to perform well enough for current games, but not necessarily perform as a full blown gaming computer. Please share your opinions on the following build:

1. Intel Core i3-530 Clarkdale

2. Biostar MB ((http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813138186)) I read some reviews where the P55 chipset was causing some problems with the "on-chip" graphics available with the i3.

3. 4gig A-data PC10666 DDR3 (2 X 2Gig) with two more available slots

4. WD 250gig Caviar Blue SATA 3.0

5. The rest (DVD R/RW + Case + 80MM fan X 2 minimum + > 500W power supply.

I realize these components will not produce a "gaming" rig like I would prefer, but keeping budget in mind, I believe this rig may suit my needs. I play BF2142 currently and may look towards MW2 and BC2 later this year. My current rig is an older Dell e510 with a P4 3.0 HT, 4G PC-800 DDR2, Nvidia GT 8500 512M GDDR-2 running XP Media Center and is pretty well consumed by BF 2142.

Does anyone here have experience with Intel's graphics that is available with the Core i3 & i5 models matched with the H55 chipset? I'm on a bit of a budget ($500ish) and was hoping I could utilize the "on chip" graphics until I can get a better DDR-3 or DDR-5 graphics card. We have multiple USB external HDDs for document and picture storage, so HDD capacity is not critical. I would also like to consider a dual-boot with XP on one partitian and Win7 on the other. Some of my older educational software (I'm a family guy) does not seem to function on Win7.

Please share your thoughts. I may be ordering later this week.

Thanks!

Current games? I'm assuming the ones you "currently" have as in 2142 which is 5 yrs old.
And graphics card? Big deal if you are even thinking BC2.
Think future. ( ROI over time) - quad core should be a minimum at this point.
Your current machine seems fine for what you are doing. Another $500 and you will be future proof. It will get you 10x what you get for $500.
$1000 six months from now will get you one hell of a machine that will last for years. And be upgradable.

Consider quad-core. While not a necessity per se, it does make a difference in games like BC2 and others coming up and out now.

Also, my impression from integrated graphics is that it's beyond horrible for gaming. There might be driver glitches for games which might make them unplayable. Not sure how well BC2 would run, or if you can even turn it that low. 2142 should be OK (on lower detail perhaps). Even an old 8800GT (from ebay or whatev. haven't looked but probably sub-$100) will make a HUGE difference in how well games run.

If you're considering mid-high overclocking, or are a "tweaker" you will be sorely disappointed by biostar imo.

All of the things above come with an increased price, but imo it's very much worth it.
