laptop monitor carked

3 year old dell something or other. inspiron? that sound right? sure.

noticed it flickering the other day. now shuts off after a few seconds.

hard drive fine.

is it worth trying to get it fixed? or does the great crystal ball foresee me shelling out for a new laptop this weekend?

I had a laptop that the screen started flickering on and then shutting off... IBM Thinkpad. Never did any gaming - just lots of Graphic Design. Turned out to be the mobo dying.

Lol I've actually cracked a top of the line laptops monitor before. Its really annoying trying to persuade Dell that it was a manufacturing error not that I dropped it.
