I switched the monitor to 1080i(Mine can do 1080p) to see what looks like. As soon as I switched it said 'Out of Range' and I couldn't switch it back. The monitor only has the DVI and VGA connectors. I only can use the VGA connector. System restore doesn't help, can't switch it back on the VGA connector and I haven't figured out how to uninstall the software/driver for it yet. So I might have upgrade I mean replace the monitor. I am gonna get a LED one if I have to replace it which it looks like it.

Reboot and select Graphics Safe Mode (which sets 640x480). That should let you get it back. Otherwise, try it with a different computer (a laptop perhaps) and also try removing power entirely.

How do I get to 'Graphics Safe Mode'? I can get it to work in 'Safe Mode'.

Thanks. Apparently I was hitting F8 a second late that's why I didn't see it . And it wasn't ever on 1080p in the first place. Because it looks better than before. Being a blonde I didn't see that it wasn't shaded to tell me it's in 1080p resolution. It was in the highest in regular mode 1680 x 1050.

I had this happen and started Win7 in safe mode, changed it back to previous settings, restarted and started Win7 normally. That took care of the problem.

It also didn't help me still using the VGA cord on it still instead switching back to DVI one.

Yea, bob beat me to it. Had to do this for 2 people before, and myself.
I have a 1680x1050 monitor too. 1080p video doesn't quite fit.

I have a 22.5" widescreen. I thought before this "Why does it say 1080p when it doesn't look like it?" I felt like a dumbass after I selected that option earlier today.
