Baserape rule clarification

Rule states - "If an enemy player is actively shooting out of their uncap via a weapon, vehicle or equipment such as a Mortar, UCAV or other piece of equipment. They are then fair game to shoot back at. ... You may only attack the Player(s) that are confirmed to be shooting from their Uncap. This includes destroying their equipment."

I assume this applies to people using the MAV to get kills. But does it also apply to people who are only using the MAV to spot? He might not be shooting but in my opinion he is actively engaging in the battle via spotting.

basically can I run into the enemy spawn to kill that guy who has been MAVing all game and is 0-0

I did say equipment. And the MAV falls under that.

If you cant reach them, what I like to do is get the AA-lock on rocket launcher and take out their mavs till they stop deploying them. Usually after 4 times destroying a person's mav they get pissed and do something else

Just make sure you are going for the person that is using the mav or whatever and not random ppl who are just spawning.
