my data drive just took a shit. no biggie just loss of all pics movies music all games other than BF that has its own dedicated ssd. let me know please figure I may be able to strike a better deal then running straight to newegg or amazon. atleast for the time being I do have room to throw h1z1 on the BF drive

I will do some digging. I have quite a few drives lying around. Not sure which ones are good.

it was weird everything was running fine pc started to do an odd lag so I tried to restart and it took for ever then when it came up said attempting repairs to (x) drive and nothing I seen which drive unplugged it and everthing started working again never had anything like that happen just sucks I lost all the stuff on the drive as it wasn't backed up anywhere. ill contact amazon this weekend it should still be under warranty. but please do still let me know if ya have anything

I have some hd's too, I'll have to check if they are Sata III.

Not sure why he is worried about them being SATA 3 specifically since all Sata drives will be compatible and sata 1 is likely faster than most mechanical drives. I haven't checked the spec in years.

I believe Sata III move more data.

Yeah but a mechanical hard drive is good for upwards of 125 MB/s, might see 150 to 175 these days in unrealistic scenarios from high end drives. SATA 2 at 3 Gbps is roughly twice as fast as most mechanical drives. I wouldn't worry about it unless someone is giving him an ssd.
