Depending on how much you want to spend (and if you want a built in microphone), studio headsets with a DAC have way better sound quality, "gaming headset" mic quality is usually meh, studio headsets have better build quality as well. I use a FiiO E10K USB DAC...

My opinion: Commander mode kills Pearl servers. I used to play a 24/7 pearl server a lot. But when they added commander it ruined the server and people quit going to it... People just sit in commander launching cruise missiles non stop.
