So.. I was looking around on their site and figured I would see the cost if I wanted to jump into a 980. With Next day air shipment it would cost me $160.00. Seems tempting to say the least. Any thoughts? Talk me into it or out of it? Also I'm not sure if they will offer more 980s (FTW/SC) later v the one available. I have 90 days from the date of purchase so I'm in no rush.

My Card-

The 980 I can get-

That's a hell yes. Why? Because it's the new shiny, is faster, and hold resale better. At this point it's $160 more so why not?

Yea, That was my thoughts. it would be cheaper, but I think it was like $30+ for the next day air shipment. I obviously want that because I will not be gaming for about a week once I send my card off. Then again I could always buy like a 750ti or someshit from amazon prior to sending it off and just return it when i get my 980. :)

I thought for Step-up that they sent the card to you and then you returned yours...but I guess that's if you did the advance replacement.

I would do it in a heart beat if I was in that situation and had the money!!

@sixer9682 That is only for RMAs. For the step up program they will not send you a card first. I submitted the info for the 980, So just going to sit back and wait a month or longer till they have one available.

I'm still using an EVGA GTX 560 so yeah, I don't get it. Never really had an issue with my card slowing things down, not sure what my framerates are (I'll check today) but it always plays smooth for me unless my internet starts shitting out. Can't go wrong with EVGA though, I only buy GPU's from them.

Has anyone here ever used the step up program? Or am I the guinea pig.
I did it once and burned the advance replacement option to get that sent to me before I had to return the old one. It was painless, I promise...and not in a Broke Back Mountain kind of way.

Well called EVGA today just to get an idea of a timeline if possible. The rep said it can take 2 days to a couple months... 1 hour later I get my email for step 2/4. So just have to wait a day for them to review my purchase invoice and correct the price if needed then it's GG. So that's kind of awesome.
