This sad, but funny.

Turning the anti-cheat against itself for BF3 users

A hacking group comprised of anti-Punkbuster fanatics is claiming responsibility for the recent rash of Battlefield 3 bans on the PC version of the game. This group of haters is apparently doing this to show both EA and DICE how much they truly hate Punkbuster.

Without getting into all of the sordid details, the bottom line is that DICE and EA are aware of the problems and recommend that those affected connect to servers not running Punkbuster. EA seems to believe that the situation is limited to a small number of players.

In the meantime, DICE and EA are looking into the issue to try to find a solution. Everyone seems confident that a solution can be found and that it is just a matter of time.

I know a solution. DROP PUNKBUSTER!! IT'S SHIT hahaha - pretty simple really :)

And your alternative is? Oh right there is none. What's actually happening is the bans are being injected through the GGC Streams and not the PB Streams. Since the requirements to stream to GGC are to have a hole and heartbeat any douche can have access to anyone's 32 digit GUID. Compile that with the fact that GGC allows any server to stream, regardless of location. This means you can have a server in your basement and stream to them. Can you see a potential problem there? PB only allows servers that are hosted at data centers through Ranked Server Providers.

This problem has been known for a while. PB had issues with fake bans back in 2008 due to relaxed streaming requirements. They since have some very stringent requirements and the problem has ceased on their end. While in the meantime GGC keeps having this happen to them. Educate yourself before you make such blanket statements.

Man I don't really care. EA firstly could save some money if they just developed their own anti cheat system and then rolled it out across all their games. But if they do it well, they could also sell it to other companies and make money on it. Gotta think out the box!

Yeah and then we would be bitching about them some more as usual. Also think buying out evenbalance would work just as well for them since they wouldnt have to start from scratch or affect games they already have setup for PB.

Plus if EA ever came out with anything it would be shit. Thank god for DICE haha

the funny thing is, people get paid to develope these anti cheat systems, then some fag that doesnt get paid comes along and finds every hole in there shit ass anti cheat syste,... PB and VAC SUCK DICK!

People who get paid have less time to do things than people who dont :p. If you work for a large company you usually have some idiot making decisions that make your job impossible todo, if they left you alone you might actually accomplish something and save the company money in the process.
