Figured I would post my setup and ask a question.

Im currently using a i76950x / 64 gb DDR4 / and a GTX 1080. Im thinking about getting another GTX1080 and doing SLI. Can I expect any major performace increases? I mostly play BF4 on High settings and noticing some "noise" on some gravel / windows that I did not see with my SLI 780's

Also is there anything I can do to increase performance?

Are you playing at 4k, 1440p kr 1080p?

At this point I don't know that there will be much to notice with a second gpu. As far as performance, you didn't link the rest of your build. Are you on SSDs yet? Do you have a decent motherboard or just a 50$ one from bestbuy. Part of me has to ask, why 64gb of ram, it can't be just for BF4...

64gb is a shitload of ram. what does one need with that much ram? unless video editing/gaming/streaming/downloading porn at the same time?

Oh and if youve got Geforce experiance managing your BF4 settings you might want to lower the upscaling, i had mine set to 175% and was having issues, drop it to 100% and you should be fine with everything else on ultra.

I have a MSI Slait Krait Edition. I am thinking of swapping it for a ASUS ROG

Yes I am on a SSD going to be swapping that to a PCIe based SSD. Currently a kingston hyper x 960 gb

It is slightly over kill but I write software and have to run multiple windows server vms with SQL with 500-600 gb databases. I used to run these on separate machines but decided to consolidate into one machine instead of upgrading the other two VM hosts.

@thenamesgart Yes. I do plan on watercooling eventually. Currently the CPU is wc'd using a corsair kit that comes with the rad / block already assembled.

I plan on doing a new build in the next 2-3 months once things settle down with work and building a custom loop and doing ek blocks on the video cards.

I was out tonight to pick up the pci-e ssd (intel 750) and i wandered into the video section and they had the SLI HB bridge AND a 1080 in stock. I picked them up so I will be running dual sli in the next few hours.

The next build is gonna be your personal rig (not for work)? How does your current setup with 1080 run on bf4, I wanna compare how behind my oc'd 980ti is.

I work for myself / from home so this will be both. the next rig will be most of the same components just different case and a full loop. I will prolly switch out the motherboard at that time though. BF4 seems to run ok - like I said I see some noise / shading on some gravel and windows. I do get around 90 FPS consistently.
