Was wasted and kinda picked up these parts..lol

Intel Core i7 Processor i7-2600 3.4GHz 8MB LGA1155 CPU
Antec KUHLER H2O 620 CPU Cooler
ASUS SABERTOOTH P67
Corsair Vengeance 8 GB ( 2 x 4 GB ) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) 240-Pin DDR3

hopping this would last for a year or so...LoL
 
U didnt get the 2600K? These thing easily exceed 4Ghz on air. Saw an i7-2600K on an H60 water cooler pushing 5.2 Ghz under 70C which for a laptop guy is a normal temp lol. By 5Ghz your pushing scary max voltages though.
 
I am not that heavy into overclocking my CPU, I'd rather just buy a new shit, when the day comes..LoL

As it stands there will be one more upgrade for 1155 which is ivy bridge. I am an overclocking addict like to get that performance and have never killed anything doing it.

I just put together a PC for the Mrs. today with the 1155 socket Ivy Bridge. Hers is just an I-5 2400, but for $159.00 that's a great deal. Let me tell you that little fucker on stock flies. I turned on the turbo boost in her bios so it runs at 3.1Ghz and that shit really is faster than my I-7920 @4ghz by a noticeable margin.
 
BTW-good choice on the parts Killa; I think you'll be pleased with that CPU and the Sabertooth MB.

Which is exactly why I decided against buying that i7-920 off balls... I still havent said anything yet let me go see if his pm box isnt full lol i feel like an ahole.

Buy yeah Imagine an I5-2500K @ 4.5Ghz on not so scary voltage not even pushing 50C BOOM! That I7 is gonna be nice for extreme multitasking. I just dont trust windows scheduler with HT if its a priority thread and it gets held back a moment... well thats why there are claims gaming is better with the HT off, We will see i might make a last minute leap for the i7-2600K.
 
more for sure you will be able to change it for a i9 or more if you need it!!!

LMAO are we still calling them that. I am interested to see if they happen to up the core count for an ivy bridge offering but until then who knows.
 
TechReport.com just did a full review of the Sabertooth and that thing is sexy as fuck. But the "thermal armor" on it may actually be counterproductive in dissipating heat.

Most excellent, I am getting them delivered early next week, cant wait to putz around with my comp, as it neads some heavy cleaning also... Big giant dust box that it is right now..LOL
 
Just finished building the thing. Picked up Corsair 64Gig SSD for the OS while was at it, and like Six said, I couldnt be happier with it. The rig runs at 4.2Gz @ 55-58C at max load. The thing is so damn fast, making me feel like a retard. :-) Awesome! I am really pleased with it. Now I need to pack all the wires to the back of the case make it all neat n shit. Boo ya! Any suggestion on good benchmarking tools? Besides Prime95..??
 
Where are the pics?

There's always Cinebench, Unigine, PCMark7 just came out, and HyperPi are always good ones to run.
 
I am not posting pix for two resons, I am not sure how to post em here without having to upload em to photobucket or some shit like this, and second of all its all the same at this point, "generic" looking comp , HAF case with a very few lights, just basic, but very fast thing...he he
