Fwiw, I think the bug the OP describes here is a newer one. E.g. player count will be 50/65 (9). You are able to join (unlike the usual full waitlist bug) but do end up in a sort of fake queue momentarily before connecting. But you wouldn't know that before trying. Just looks like a big queue...
