I'm the coolest Bot!
Vengeance what are your system specs? It shouldn't be too hard to put together a machine to run it on at least medium or upgrade your current machine.
Vengeance, the real question is, just what can you afford? Or what pieces can you come up with...?
With a little bit of hustling, you might be able to find some of the pieces/parts you need around here just by asking. For starters, you already have a case, and obviously it's got a power supply in it. What size is that? I think I have an old Core Duo laying around here somewhere, and maybe even a video card, that I'd be willing to donate to ya for free.
I remember back to 2005 when I was surrounded by people that were playing BF2, but my machine couldn't run it. So, when 2142 rolled around about a year later, I can't tell ya how pissed I was sitting in Teamspeak and listening to everyone talk about that "stupid" game.
You don't need thousands of dollars to run BC2. I'm running the game beautifully with just a 2.93 MHz Intel Core 2 Duo and an NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT. Now, if you won't upgrade unless it's some sort of killer gaming machine, well, your right... That might take ya some time. But if you're okay with something that will just run the game until you can get the killer system -- you might be surprised what you can find around here.
The bottom line is, I'll help if I can and there might be others around here that might help ya, too. The Christmas spirit, tis the season, and all that other jazz.
EDIT: Soldier4Real posted while I was typing this. Soldier, I wasn't referring to you when I said, "The real question is..."

The biggest issue is the computer. I myself cannot upgrade it, because is would invalidate the warranty. And I don't know about Dell's policies about secondhand upgrades.
As for price range, VERY limited, I get maybe like $400 a semester, but most of it has to go to books or other expenses, so really like $100.
Not how much money can you come up with, just how many pieces? I'm back in school full time myself, and though our situations might vary, I understand about stretching financial aid, etc.
We still might be able to build ya a system from pieces parts without messing with the Dell...
I think with a new video card you could run BC2. That 5600 was junk when it came out and is even bigger junk now. Aside from that your machine isn't actually that bad. You could spend around $130 and get a decent video card. It's basically plug and play.
Dolt! I missed the first reply where you posted the system specs and only seen the reply with the quote.
I believe Soldier is ( obviously ) right on point with his observation. The first thing you should do is find out exactly how installing a new video card might affect your warranty, etc. That seems to be the question most other questions are now hinged on...
Ahhhhh.......never mind, I just looked it up and it's a laptop. Yeah, you're fucked.
Well, maybe it's a good time to start asking people about pieces/parts for donation or for cheap. You could still piece together a decent system pretty cheap. Like I said, I've got a few pieces laying around that you can have for nothing. But you're certainly going to have to ask around for some other parts if you're going to get this project started.
