Hey,

I'm building a system for my other brother with my brother and in it we're planning on putting a 1070.
Specifically, this is the one I'm looking at right now: https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-GTX-1070-AERO-8G-OC.html#hero-overview

Is this a good idea? Are those blower type cards reliable, how about their acoustic & thermal performance? Should I look at other brands-models?

Why I thought the blower is a good idea: his room always has high temperatures, and one would assume that the blower type card would remove the gpu heat far quicker from the case.

Blower type cards are good if there's not good air flow in the case...this way it removes itself. On the other hand, if there is good airflow with lots of case fans then I'd not go with the blower style...they are loud as fuck in my opinion.

System ready, brother might be surprised when he finds out...

Board: DQ77MK (I have my sources... I can be your source, too...)
CPU: i5-3570
Ram: 24GB from Kingston (8+4+8+4)
GPU: MSI GTX 1070 8G OC
Storage: Samsung 840 Series 250GB(Boot/OS) + WD Black Caviar 1TB
Case: The biggest one we found lying on the floor in the company basement

Rwplacing psu cause its a lawnmower engine, though. lol.

Antec makes the best PSU's. I have had several, and they are all still in use. My latest is the HCP-1000.

Antec HCP-1000 Platinum 1000W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible
(7-year warranty and lifetime global 24/7 support)

This cooler keeps my Hexacore CPU nice and cool. It can handle OC configurations as well. Did just fine with a 20% OC on my i7 3930k.

Corsair Hydro Series H115i Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler, 280mm
