Need some Advice on the Ryzen Chips - Looking at building a new PC

In two minds - Ryzen 5 3600 or Ryzen 7 3700x - Will i see that much of a difference in frames for gaming for the $$ ?
The GPU will eventually be either a 2070 or 2070 Super
Secondly - is there a need for the X570 MB or will the X470 or B450? Suffice?

Any one have any ideas ?

You won't see a lot of difference between the two for gaming but for video and audio editing, you'll see a noticeable difference.

I wouldn't get a cpu just for gaming. That being said, the newer games are taking great advantage of more cores since Ryzen made the 8 core mainstream and yes, it is noticeable to me while gaming. Like I said the fps is not a lot more, but games, all of them I've played, run way smoother with the extra cores as your cpu is not stressed as much all the time.

Yep, noticeable improvement when I went from quad core Intel to 8-core Ryzen, especially in terms of smoothness like when launching/exiting games, navigating menus and stuff like that. Ryzen 5 is a good chip. It'll do you well and save a bit of money for you to put towards a better GPU or SSD.

If you're shopping at www.evga.com feel free to use my discount code to save some bucks on your hardware. They don't do AMD motherboards, but you can save some bucks on your video card, case, keyboard, power supply, cooling, audio card, etc. It's 10 percent off most things, 5 percent off graphics cards. Just add code XX95PJN1T76IONP to your cart, it even works on things already on sale. Good luck with your build.

ok on the motherboards....the 5 series boards will give you PCI-E 4.0 support....any of the 4 series boards or back are only 3.0....also some of the 4 series boards need BIOS updates to run the new 3 series chips...if you get a 4 series board make sure its supports 3 series chips out of the box.....any of the X50 boards are also going to be lower end VS any of the X70 boards...(the 470 is a lot better then the 450)....buying a 570 board now means you can easily upgrade CPU's down the road....safe bet is buying the cheaper 3600 and a 570 motherboard

on memory....all the 3 series chips have great gains from faster memory....anything over 3600mhz and make sure its 2 sticks not 1.....32gb of something like 2400mhz will be left in the dust by 16gb of 3600mhz when dealing with the 3 series chips....

power supply....all i can say is dont go cheap....if you get 1 of the EVGA super nova's with a 10 year warranty it will be a part you have for many years.....also seasonic is another great brand with real world warranties just as long on some models....look around jonnyguru....all this guy does is bench test power supplies

That's very kind of you to share your discount code. I hopefully will be getting a 3000 card series in the future. Need some more coin!
