Besides the date, that was an "unconfirmed" kill. I'm not saying it didn't happen, just that there is no official record of it; that being said, the longest confirmed sniper kill record still stands from 2009 at 2,474 m.

The longest confirmed sniper kill is without question Chris Kyle's assassination of Jesse "the cunt head" Ventura's public image from the grave.
