The long and overdue patch will finally be released soon. The patch will mostly fix the major flaws the game currently possesses (security, PID spoofing) but will also bring new content such as multiple maps.

More specifically:

• No DRM method on the exe as with BF2 (No more SafeDisc, PACE or SecuROM (depending on which version of BF2142 you have) and no more errors from EADM saying you need to log in to EADM to verify ownership even if you are logged in)
• Increase server stability and prevent PID spoofing.
• Operation Blue Pearl
• Three brand new maps from community modder Jason Brice
• Northern Strike will be available to EVERYONE


There are speculations that more maps might be added but it is uncertain at this time.

Of course, we will announce if any new TBG servers will be added an/or current servers will be modified in any way. This thread will keep you informed with the latest news.

1.51 i believe. Right now its 1.5

i might jump back in then... the game play is sooo much different that bc2. i like them both but i got so use to 2142's flow.

Don't want to seem idiot or anything that kind, but I got doubt they'll let everyone who hasn't buy the expansion pack play the NS maps. I think they will put only the possibility of having the items of NS.

But I don't want to challenge anyone (ok on the last word I ain't sure it should be the good one but I ain't english), but it's my own relfexion. It's surely not the kind of EA to wish to make a game free, mostly a game that is paying.

There was a recent thread over at UK EA forums where Baza posted some updated info, but that was a few weeks ago now.
