there is a tool you can use to read the dump files which can in some case tell you were the problem might be. you just need to download and read what it is listed as the issues.
how to fix the bsod is hard to say till that is viewed. could be an app or dll giving isuee. in some cases it the ram and would need to be replaces in some cases.

another things is to review you computer event logs as well.

No like it went black and wont power on or show any response to being plugged in. Its a laptop so limited part options. Bsod wasnt the right wording it just flat out went black and wont respond at all. Already sent out to service though so hoping for 2 weeks. Propably either a bad power supply or motherboard. Im going to try to install bf3 on my old computer but its most likely wont handle it well if at all. Its only got a nvdia 9500,dual core 3ghz and 4 gb ram. Downloading bf3 now fingers crossed

Mm. Sucks to hear. Was wondering why you were flying straight in the jet when I shot you down ;)

Upgrade the desktop. That's where it's at now :)

With a desktop you could keep upgrading, like so: CoTTonĀ® (cottonz)

I would like a desktop and i used one prior to this computer but i need to have a laptop for school(mechanical engineering). So alot of CAD etc. and i need to be able to take my computer to lab. Once im out of school though next computer is definitely a desktop. My old desktop may run bf3 but im worried the processor wont cut it. Didnt get a chance to test it yet dual core 2.4 is actually what it has so that may be the weak link. I can add a better vid card for the few weeks if need be but dont really wanna get involved in motherboard/processor swapping on a 5 year old computer that im going to use for 2 weeks. Gonna give the minimum system requirements a run for thier money.

and yea it was a wierd crash i was playing and screen went black and i could hear you say your mic is messed up then the whole thing died and wouldnt even show a yellow battery indicator or anything just nothing.

Edit: yea no go on the old comp. Rocking less then 15 frames on absolute lowest settings possible
