That shit is hot
I'm just wondering....wouldln't that space up your cards, how would it fit in a case? I did buy the Rampage III board 2 days ago; Such an overkill & it's fucking great
Balls, isn't that board retarded? Soooooo many options, etc.
This thread helped me out with some bios issues in case you run into any, the first post has a lot of great info if needed: ***Asus Rampage III Extreme Owners Thread*** - XtremeSystems Forums
Anyway, I think to fit that much awesomeness in one case you'd have to go with something like mountain mods (those ugly ass square things) or something custom. But the level of win would be stunning.
What memory did you go with? I was looking at this: Newegg.com - CORSAIR DOMINATOR-GT 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000) Desktop Memory Model CMT6GX3M3A2000C8
I went with Newegg.com - CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TR3X6G1600C8D
That's about the only drawback with this board, fairly picky with memory from what I've read. There's about 4 pages in the manual that list "officially supported memory", the stuff you're looking at should be good. I had a big headache with it not recognizing the 2nd slot, running at default voltages and speed, even with the XMP profile loaded AND trying to set it manually. Ended up installing bios 0802, everything works fine now. I would rather have tighter ram timings than a little faster overclock, so that 2000 ram you're looking at should be able to stretch its legs better than my stuff. Another bad thing about the ram I'm using, it's takes 1.65 volts to run at stock speeds, which is approaching the upper limit of ram voltage :(
Here's all the latest goodies, first download is the qualified vendors list for ram: http://support.asus.com/download/dow...Language=en-us
Asus boards have always been picky about memory
Yeah, I miss Abit, you could throw anything in 'em lol
Balls, was researching memory for some better stuff to go in my rig, found a guy that is having issues with the exact ram you're looking at, no help as of yet.

He could always have bad memory, or something in the XMP might not be liked by the board...

Or the wrong bios, or low voltage, or a bad slot, or the cpu not seated correctly...that's half the fun, figuring this crap out :(
